TUESDAYS at 3:45pm–Tinker Tuesday Kids age 7-12 engage in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) activities after school. Tinker Tuesdays give kids permission to experiment through the exploration of materials with guided facilitation to complete an end project. (Children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult).
WEDNESDAYS, beginning September 15th at 9:30am–Toddler Tales Give your child a boost in early literacy. Our program provides intentional practice of the five early childhood predictors: oral language, phonemic awareness, concepts about print and early writing. Through the exploration of books, new vocabulary, rhyming, rhythm, music, and movement. Your child will be excited to learn and play!
Wednesday, September 15th from 3:45-5:00pm–Art Lab We’ll be exploring artist Wassilly Kandinsky, begin sketching, and making a Kandinsky inspired project using oil pastels. Open to folks from 7 on up!
Wednesday, September 22nd from 3:45-5:00pm–Art Lab We’ll be learning about Pablo Picasso and cubism by creating a Picasso inspired mask using a paper bag and mixed media. Open to folks 7 on up!
Wednesday, September 22nd at 4:30pm–Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Meeting Calling all teens! Do you like to plan, promote and implement programs for kids? Are you interested in suggesting library materials for teens? You can provide a voice for youth as you gain valuable volunteer experience in your community. Our Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is open to all students ages 12-19 residing in Lancaster or Potosi School Districts or homeschooled individuals who use our libraries. Come see what’s happening!
Wednesday, September 29th from 3:45-5:00pm–Art Lab We’ll discuss the artist and works of Piet Mondrian, and create a Mondrian-inspired piece using primary colors.
